Anfield - Premier League

Liverpool seek revenge on Sunday against a Manchester City side that beat them 5-0 earlier on in the season. Both sides have lost a Brazilian talisman in recent weeks but will still be raring to go.

Past Meetings

City's 5-0 win at the Etihad Stadium back in September marked out their title credentials and sent Liverpool into a brief dip in form. Braces from Gabriel Jesus, Leroy Sane and a goal from Sergio Aguero did the job for the Citizens, despite Liverpool being unbeaten in four games previously.

Team News

Jurgen Klopp is without full-backs Nathaniel Clyne and Alberto Moreno, whilst goalkeeper Adam Bogdan remains out with a cruciate ligament injury.

Man City's Benjamin Mendy are also suffering from a cruciate ligament problems, who has been joined in the treatment room by striker Gabriel Jesus.

Liverpool v Manchester City Predictions and Previews

The departure this week of Liverpool's star player Philippe Coutinho has dominated the headlines recently, however, fans are less discouraged than by the previous sales of the likes of Fernando Torres and Luis Suarez. It is the form of attacking trio, Mohammad Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane that is the reason for said optimism, having scored 31 goals between them so far this season. Salah, the league's top scorer, is 7/5 to score anytime against City, with the other member of the trio both 2/1.

Klopp's side have been on an impressive run of form recently, unbeaten in all competitions since October, and on the back of three consecutive Premier League wins. Remarkably, this, in addition to their playing at home, is still not enough to warrant Liverpool status as favourites on Sunday.

City, despite having drawn and lost more recently than their opposition in all competitions, have been nothing short of remarkable this season. They have blown away all of the title contenders so far, making short work of champions, Chelsea, and they very much justify being 6/5 favourites.

It is Pep Guardiola's squad's phenomenal strength in depth that make them such a threat. Even after the injury to Gabriel Jesus, they are able to field one of the world's best forwards in Sergio Aguero, who has scored 13 goals in 17 appearances in the league this season. At 21/10 the Argentinian is favourite to score on Sunday, with City's top scorer, the rejuvenated Raheem Sterling at 6/5.

Taking points of Manchester City is a tough ask this season, but if anyone can do it, its Klopp's Liverpool.

Recommended Bets

Aguero to score and City to win at 7/4

The forward has taken the attacking burden of his team well and will exploit any mistake Liverpool's defence makes.

Salah to score last 5/1

The winger's pace will cause trouble against tired City centre-backs and exploit the space left by the visitors' adventurous full-backs.
