UK sportsbetting giant William Hill recently pulled off quite the stunt when it secured its first-ever sportsbook brand alliance with a US sports complex, the Capital One Arena. This obviously at the same time also means that the bookmaking giant is now in charge of its first-ever Washington DC sports book location.

William Hill this week got to celebrate this landmark double-barrel success as it looked on as the ceremonial inaugural bets were placed by local season ticket holders. Fans of the Washington Wizards, the Capitals and the Mystics all placed their bets by utilising the at-arena services offered by William Hill.

Perfect Timing

William Hill’s timing could obviously not have been more perfect – what with its first entry into Washington DC and the accompanying landmark arena-based deal coinciding with the long-awaited return of major sports after a fatiguing and protracted global hiatus.

The sportsbook, at present operating form a temporary location, is situated inside the Capital One Arena Box Office. The physical address is one well-known to sports fans: 601 F, N.W. The parent company overseeing the operations, namely Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE), and led by company-founder and Chairman/CEO Ted Leonsis, is furthermore the parent company not only of Capital One Arena, but also of the Wizards, the Washington Capitals, and the Mystics.

Proud Day For William Hill

Washington DC is absolutely a supreme and long-in-the-pipeline mission carefully orchestrated and now also successfully accomplished for the famous bookie. William Hill is naturally thrilled about the promise of the American power-state, and since Washington DC is known the world over for its passionately dedicated sports fans, so says William Hill US CEO Joe Asher, the bookie now gets to look forward to offering to hose fans exciting new ways in which to engage with their sports teams and idols.

Asher also offered a heartfelt word of thanks to Ted Leonsis and the rest of the Monumental team, saying that William Hill would not have managed to secure the position as the bookie behind the first-ever retail location situated within a pro sports venue had it not been for the support and confidence shown by the Monumental CEO and his superb team.

The temporary sportsbook will as soon as possible be exchanged for a permanent one – along with a restaurant and a brand-new bar concept, confirmed Asher. The permanent in-arena getup will be in line with that originally envisaged by the bookmaking giant.

Congratulations Are In Order

Monumental CCO and President of Business Operations, namely Jim Van Stone, congratulated William Hill on the magnificent accomplishment. Referring to the bookmaker as a “terrific” partner – and one with a reputation for excellence in service and in integrity – Van Stone called a return to major league sports alongside the welcoming of a new partner a day of excellence and an occasion worthy of celebration and remembrance.

William Hill’s new sportsbook facilities will trade 7 days a week and be open for business between the hours of 11 am and 11 pm. Comprising of seven ticket windows and 10 kiosks, the sportsbook is perfectly geared and kitted out in such a way so as to create an engaging and seamless sports engagement and betting experience.

Construction being done on the permanent sportsbook is currently in the meantime well underway. Pending regulatory approval, the new venue is expected to be complete and ready to welcome its first customers by at least this coming fall.

In addition to the sports betting products and engagement experience on offer, guests will enjoy a full-service food and beverages offering.
