Arsenal v Bournemouth Predictions, Betting Tips and Previews
February 25, 2019
Emirates Stadium - Premier League
Unai Emery's Arsenal will be looking to tighten their grip on fourth spot in the Premier League, as they host Bournemouth on Wednesday night.
The Gunners won 2-1 on the South Coast earlier this season, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scoring the winner at the Vitality Stadium.
Arsenal have won six out of their seven Premier League meetings with Eddie Howe's side.
Arsenal should be boosted by the return of Ainsley Maitland-Niles,who missed their win over Southampton through illness. Stefan Lichtsteiner and Alex Iwobi were both withdrawn in that game with minor injuries, but should be fit to play. Hector Bellerin, Danny Welbeck and Rob Holding remain long term absentees for the hosts.
Howe will make a late decision on the fitness of forward Junior Stanislas, who is struggling with a hip problem. However they will be without Jefferson Lerma, who begins a two game ban after collecting 10 yellow cards this season, with Steve Cook, David Brooks, Callum Wilson, Simon Francis and Lewis Cook all ruled out through injury.
Arsenal v Bournemouth Predictions and Preview
Emery's side have a one point lead over fifth placed Manchester United in the race for Champions League football for next season, and they look determined to get back in to Europe's premier competition. They have won four out their last five Premier League games as they look to put some daylight between themselves and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side.
Bournemouth allowed a late lead to slip away in their last game, eventually drawing 1-1 at home to Wolves, stretching their winless run to three Premier League games. The Cherries form on the road has been dreadful this season, losing their last eight away games in league action, as Howe's side have slipped down into 10th place.
Arsenal firmly have their eye on the prize of Champions League football for 2019-20, and that should be enough drive to secure a home win - priced at 4/9. They have been fairly ruthless in front of goal at the Emirates in 2019, with 10 goals in their four home league games since the turn of the year - and an Arsenal to win and over 1.5 total goals scored is at 8/13.
Arsenal to win 2-0 at 15/2
Emery will have his side firmly focused on collecting as many points as possible between now and the end of the season, particularly as the North London side will not be potentially distracted by continued participation in the FA Cup in the coming weeks.
Alexandre Laczette to score first at 10/3
French international Lacazette is the man in form for Arsenal at the moment, with four goals in his last five Premier League appearances for Emery's side. He is chasing down teammate Aubameyang for top scorer at the club this season, with 11 league goals so far, compared to 15 for the Gabonese international.
