Saturday, May 27 – FA Cup Final  – Wembley Stadium

Arsenal  face Premier League champions Chelsea in Saturday’s FA Cup Final, with a Gunners win vital to the chances of Arsene Wenger remaining at the club.

Past Meetings

Chelsea have just edged their London rivals in recent meetings, winning three of their last five five Premier League meetings with Wenger’s side, compared to Arsenal’s two victories.

The last time they faced each other in FA Cup action was back in 2009, when Chelsea won  2-1 thanks to an extra time winner from  Didier Drogba.

Team News

Arsenal have a real defensive crisis ahead of their trip to  Wembley with a number of key defenders set to miss out.

Laurent Koscielny is suspended following his red card against Everton on the final day of the season, and fellow defender Gabbriel Paulista is ruled out with a knee injury he sustained in that game.

Skhokdra Mustafi is still strugglig with a concussion and Wenger will leave it late to make a decision on the German international.

Kieran Gibbs and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are also facing late fitness tests on thigh and hamstring injuries respectively.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has no first team injuries worries ahead of the final, with Ruben Loftus-Cheek their only player out through injury.

However the Blues are likely to field a fully strength XI as they look to secure a League and FA Cup double.

Arsenal v Chelsea Preview and Predictions

How Arsenal  react to the end of a disastrous season will be the key factor in deciding who wins the FA Cup.

The Gunners missed out the top four on the last day of the Premier League season, and the pressure on Arsene Wenger to leave the club continues to increase.

However the Frenchman is a master of the FA Cup,  winning the competition six times across his tenure, and if he does leave he will not want to end on a low note.

Chelsea have been ruthless all season and will be in no mood to go easy on the London rivals at Wembley.

With that in mind, a goal scoring bet is a very good option, with over 2.5 goals bet priced at 3/4.  Despite Chelsea’s strength at the back, Arsenal should still have enough firepower to trouble them, and a BTTS set is 4/6.

Recommended Bets

A red card to be shown at 7/2

This fixture does have a bad tempered history, with the three red cards being shown in the last five meetings, all to Arsenal players.

Per Mertesacker, Santi Cazorla and Paulista have all been given their marching orders against the Blues,  and Saturday’s game could be a frustrating one for Arsenal.

Eden Hazard to score anytime at 6/4

Belgian international Hazard has been back to his best this season, with 17 goals in all competitions, and he netted a wonder goal against Arsenal earlier this season.
