Arsenal v Liverpool Predictions, Betting Tips and Previews
October 30, 2018
Emirates Stadium - Premier League
We’re in for a cracker on Saturday evening, as Arsenal take on Liverpool at the Emirates in the first of two late kick-offs. The Gunners’ 11-match winning streak came to an end at the weekend, while Jurgen Klopp’s side remain unbeaten so far this season.
This fixture produced a thrilling 3-3 draw last season. Liverpool raced into a 2-0 lead, before Arsenal came back to go 3-2 up. Roberto Firmino had the last word with a 71st-minute equaliser, after the Reds had beaten the Gunners 4-0 at Anfield earlier in the campaign. Liverpool are unbeaten in their last six games against Arsenal, winning three of those.
Unai Emery’s defensive headaches continue, with Hector Bellerin set to miss out through injury. Laurent Koscielny and Konstantinos Mavropanos are both out, although left-backs Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac are closing in on a return to the fold.
Midfield is the problem area for the visiting manager, who has concerns over three players heading into this weekend’s crunch clash. Naby Keita and Jordan Henderson are both doubts for the game, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is a long-term absentee.
Arsenal v Liverpool Preview and Predictions
Arsenal against Liverpool has produced some epic contests down the years, while each of the last five meetings between the sides have produced at least four goals. With both sides in good form at the moment, this one looks set to go the same way.
The Gunners’ fabulous run came to a grinding halt against Crystal Palace on Saturday, as they conceded two penalties to draw 2-2 at Selhurst Park. Emery’s side are still in great shape though, just four points behind early pacesetters Manchester City and Liverpool.
An Arsenal win here would surely throw them into the mix as title contenders, and it’s priced at 5/2. That makes the hosts the underdogs in the betting, with Liverpool available at 11/10. The Reds scored four goals for the second time in a matter of days in beating Cardiff 4-1 at the weekend, meaning they’re one of three teams that are still unbeaten after 10 Premier League matches.
Liverpool look like being the biggest threat to City’s crown this term, and a win on Saturday would go a long way to proving their credentials. A point wouldn’t be the worst result for the away side though considering their hosts’ recent form, and that’s priced at 29/10.
Over 3.5 goals at 11/8
This bet would’ve paid out in each of the last five games between the sides, while an over 4.5 goals bet is priced at 13/4.
Score draw at 7/2
These teams look relatively well matched, although it seems certain we’ll see some goals on Saturday.
