Arsenal v Stoke Predictions, Betting Tips and Previews
March 28, 2018
Emirates Stadium - Premier League
Arsenal welcome Stoke to the Emirates on Sunday, with a lot more riding on this game for the visitors than the home side. The Gunners have little chance of making the top four now, while the Potters are fighting for Premier League survival.
It was the highlight of Jese Rodriguez’s Stoke career when he scored the only goal of the game when the teams met at the Bet365 in August. Arsenal won both fixtures between the sides last season 4-1 and 3-1, and have won each of their last 13 home games against the Potters, a run that stretches back to 1981.
Jack Wilshere could be fit for the hosts after missing England’s two friendlies during the international break, while Aaron Ramsay and Alexandre Lacazette are both pushing for a return too. Sead Kolasinac and long term absentee Santi Cazorla are both ruled out.
Paul Lambert will be without Charlie Adam after his red card last time out against Everton. Stephen Ireland and Mame Biram Diouf are both rated as 50/50 for this game, while Geoff Cameron and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting are expected to miss out.
Arsenal v Stoke Preview and Predictions
If over 35 years of history is anything to go by, this game looks like being a home banker for Arsenal. Arsene Wenger’s side have rarely been troubled by Stoke at the Emirates, but that could change with the visitors’ 10 year stay in the Premier League under serious threat.
Arsenal come into this game looking for their fourth consecutive win in all competitions. However, two of those were against AC Milan in the Europa League, with the Gunners losing three of their last four Premier League fixtures. They’re still strong favourites for this one though, priced at 1/3 in the betting.
Stoke are 19/2 for the win, which would be a major boost in their bid for survival. With just one win in their last 12 league games, the Potters have played a game more than West Ham and Southampton who currently lie 17th and 18th in the table.
A draw would still be a decent result for Lambert’s side given the circumstances, especially considering West Ham and Southampton play each other on Saturday, and Crystal Palace face Liverpool. A point could prove invaluable for Stoke come the end of the season, but it’s worth odds of 5/1 to you in this game.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to score and Arsenal to win at evens
With the start the Gabon striker has made to life at the Emirates, this looks as good a way as any to significantly improve your odds on the home win.
Arsenal to win 3-1 at 11/1
The Gunner have won by this scoreline in three of the last six meetings between the sides at the Emirates, and the odds increase to 28/1 with Aubameyang as the first scorer.
