Bournemouth v Manchester United Predictions, Betting Tips and Previews
October 30, 2018
Vitality Stadium - Premier League
In-form Bournemouth welcome Jose Mourinho's Manchester United to the south coast this weekend, with the Cherries in fine recent form.
Mourinho's side won home and away against Bournemouth last season, with a 1-0 win at Old Trafford followed by a 2-0 away victory, with Belgian international Romelu Lukaku scoring in both games.
Bournemouth will wait until the last minute to make a decision on the fitness of striker Josh King, after he missed their win over Fulham last weekend with an ankle problem.
United have club captain Antonio Valencia back in training, alongside Scott McTominay, but neither are at a level of match fitness to start this game. Diogo Dalot and Marouane Fellaini are both still sidelined through injury for the Red Devils.
Bournemouth v Manchester United Preview and Predictions
Bournemouth are unbeaten at home so far this season, and they are unbeaten in their last five games in all competitions ahead of the visit of United.
Mourinho's side defeated Everton 2-1 last weekend, the first time that they have picked up back-to-back Premier League wins this season.
Normally, United would be strong favourites to win this clash, as they are unbeaten in their last five games against Bournemouth following their initial promotion to the Premier League, but the form of Eddie Howe's team makes it tough for the visitors.
Howe will want his side to make a statement of intent ahead of a tough run of games in November. With that in mind, a draw, priced at 5/2 looks to be the way to go on this one, a result both managers would be likely to take ahead of kick-off.
Bournemouth have been strong in defence in their recent run, conceding just one goal in their last four Premier League matches, and they will not allow United to have anything easy. A stiff rearguard action will be needed in this clash, and an under 2.5 total goals scored bet comes in at 11/10.
A 1-1 draw at 6/1
With the home side's form looking very promising and United's continued ability to grind out important results across recent weeks, there appears to be very little to choose between the two sides ahead of Saturday's lunchtime kick-off at the Vitality Stadium.
Callum Wilson to score first at 5/1
Wilson is in red hot form ahead of this game, with four goals in his last five appearances in all competitions, and six in total for the season so far. If King is not fit, he is likely to lead the line on his own, and if the Norwegian is fit, they will form an interesting strike duo for United to deal with.
