Burnley v Arsenal Predictions, Betting Tips and Previews
November 24, 2017
Turf Moor - Premier League
Sean Dyche’s magic touch has Burnley level with Arsenal, who need to follow up their great win over Tottenham if they are to be serious contenders for a Champions League place.
Arsenal are one win short of 50 victories over the Clarets, who have 33 wins in this fixture, with 21 games having been drawn. In recent years Burnley’s home form has been impressive but Arsenal have won their last two visits to Turf Moor 1-0.
Arsenal rested several key men for Thursday’s Europa League trip to Cologne. Danny Welbeck got half a game in Germany and comes into contention but the Gunners are likely to play Alexandre Lacazette, Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil as they look to find a way through the Burnley rear-guard.
Burnley remain without long term injury victims, goalkeeper Tom Heaton, midfielder Dean Marney and forward Jon Walters but there is a possibility record signing Chris Wood could return to the side.
Burnley v Arsenal Preview and Predictions
Burnley are 11/2 to win with Arsenal 10/17 with the odds on a draw 7/2.
Arsenal deservedly beat top class Tottenham last weekend when their big names were all determined to win the north London derby. Whether they can have the same determination to dig in and take all three points from an in-form Burnley who are level on points with them is the big question for Arsene Wenger’s men.
Arsenal have reigned supreme at the Emirates so far this season but have been a soft touch away, where they have taken just four points, failed to score in half their games and won just once. Although it was a considerably changed line-up there were precious few signs of an improvement in that away form in the Europa League in Germany on Thursday.
Arsenal come in for the same criticism every time they go to the ground of a hard-working team but have managed to return with maximum points from their last two visits to Turf Moor. If Arsenal can match the steel and determination of Dyche’s team they have the quality to turn the game with Lacazette for example being 15/4 for the first goal.
Arsenal to win 1-0 at 15/2
Decent odds for the Gunners to make it three 1-0 wins in a row at Turf Moor. The same odds are available for Arsenal to win 2-0.
Burnley to win 1-0 at 17/1
Arsenal have struggled to score away and Burnley always seem to have a goal in them. Any of Chris Wood, Ashley Barnes or Sam Vokes could come up with the goal to take Burnley above the visitors.
