Burnley v Chelsea Predictions, Betting Tips and Previews
October 24, 2018
Turf Moor - Premier League
High flying Chelsea head to Burnley on Sunday, with The Blues looking to continue their Premier League unbeaten run in Lancashire.
Chelsea won 2-1 at Turf Moor last season, with Victor Moses scoring a second half winner for the away side. However Burnley pulled off a shock 3-2 win at Stamford Bridge, thanks to Sam Vokes' two goals.
Burnley will wait until the last minute to make a decision on midfielder Robbie Brady, after his return to training following a groin injury. However his Republic of Ireland team mate Stephen Ward, and goal keeper Nick Pope, are both still sidelined with long term injuries.
Chelsea's star man Eden Hazard is struggling with a minor back injury, and he is expected to sit out their Europa League clash in midweek, but he should be fit in time.
Burnley v Chelsea Preview and Predictions
Maurizio Sarri has impressed after taking over at the club, with The Blues unbeaten under the Italian in competitive action this season. They look well paced to be a genuine challenger to Manchester City and Liverpool this season, and they will look to keep their run going against Burnley.
Sean Dyche's Burnley were hammered 5-0 away at Manchester City last weekend, and they have won just one game in their last four in league and cup action, and they will find it tough going against a Chelsea side on a mission.
An away win looks to be the way to go on this one, priced at 4/11, as Sarri will want to ensure that no gap opens up between his side and their title rivals.
They have also been impressive defensively this season, particularly away from Stamford Bridge, conceding just one goal on the road in the Premier League. With that in mind, a Chelsea win to nil is available at 21/20.
Chelsea to win 2-0 at 11/2
Chelsea have shown their strength away from home this season, winning at Huddersfield, Newcastle and Southampton, and collecting a draw away to West Ham. They should have enough to seal all three points here, a result that will frustrate Dyche even further given their inconsistency.
Eden Hazard to score first at 7/2
Hazard has been in sensational form so far this season, leading the Premier League scoring charts with seven goals so far. The Belgian international has also netted twice in his last three Premier League games for Chelsea.
