Burnley v Wolves Predictions, Betting Tips and Previews
March 26, 2019
Turf Moor - Premier League
Relegation threatened Burnley host Wolves this weekend, with Sean Dyche's side in strong need of a positive result against Nuno Santo's side.
Wolves beat the Clarets 1-0 at Molineux earlier this season in Premier League action, with Raul Jimenez netting the winning goal in September.
Wolves are unbeaten in their last three games against the Lancashire side.
Burnley have no fresh injury worries ahead of this crunch tie, with long term absentees Aaron Lennon and Steven Defour both ruled out until next season. Forward Jonathan Walters announced his retirement last week, and he has since been removed from Burnley's Premier League squad list.
Wolves also have a clean bill of health ahead of the trip to the North West, however they will be without defender Ryan Bennett, who serves the final game of a two match ban.
Burnley v Wolves Predictions and Preview
Dyche has warned his players that they remained firmly in danger of being relegated back to the Championship for the first time since 2015, despite being two points clear of 18th place Cardiff as things stand. The Clarets need to pick up points in the coming weeks, as they face a tough end of season run in with games against Chelsea, Manchester City, Everton and Arsenal in April.
Wolves are still in the hunt for a seventh place finish in the final weeks of the season, and they are currently one point ahead of Watford with eight games to go in 2018-19. Santo's side also have a tough run of games in the final few weeks of the season, with clashes against Arsenal and Liverpool in their last four games.
With so much at stake for both sides in this game, it is difficult to predict a winner, so a draw looks a better option in this clash - priced at 11/5. Burnley have had a poor defensive record in recent weeks at Turf Moor, conceding six goals in their last three Premier League games on home territory, and with that in mind a BTTS bet is available at 19/20.
A 1-1 draw at 11/2
Burnley are in need of points this weekend, however Wolves are in good form ahead of this weekend - with just one defeat in their last 12 games in all competitions. A draw does little to further either side's objectives, but neither will want to lose this game.
Raul Jimenez to score anytime at 8/5
Mexican international Jimenez has been in great form in his debut Premier League season, with 16 goals for Wolves so far in 2018-19. As well as scoring the key goal against Burnley earlier this season, he also has four goals in his last five appearances ahead of the trip to Turf Moor.
