Cardiff City v Manchester City Predictions, Betting Tips and Previews
January 24, 2018
Cardiff City Stadium - FA Cup
Premier League leaders Manchester City travel to Cardiff City this weekend looking to keep on course their quest for a quadruple of trophies in 2017-18.
These two faced each other in the 2013-14 as Premier League clubs, with each side winning at home in that campaign.
Cardiff City did win a home fourth round FA Cup clash against Manchester City in 1994, with Nathan Blake scoring the winner in a 1-0 victory.
Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock has no injury concerns as he prepares to face the all conquering power of Pep Guardiola's City side. He can call on plenty of Premier League experience, in the shape of Marko Grujic (on loan from Liverpool), Greg Halford, Junior Hoilett and Anthony Pilkington.
City are without their two first choice left backs, Bernard Mendy and Fabian Delph, meaning a likely start for Alexander Zinchenko, with Tosin Adarabioyo, Bernado Silva, Brahim Diaz an Danilo all set to start.
Gabriel Jesus and Phil Foden are both ruled out through injury.
Cardiff City v Manchester City Preview and Predicitons
Cardiff have been solid in recent weeks, and face Manchester City unbeaten in their last four games in all competitions. They did need a replay to see off Mansfield in the third round before drawing Manchester City in the fourth round.
City have swept all before them this season, losing only twice to Shakhtar and Liverpool so far in 2017-18 and they are unlikely to find Cardiff as a potential banana skin.
Even if Guardiola opts to rest some of his big names, City will have plenty in reserve to see off the Championship side and progress to the fifth round.
A comfortable away win should be on the cards here, currently priced at 2/7 for the visitors to win inside 90 minutes.
Nine goals for City in their last three games tells its own story of City's goal threat, Manchester City to win and score over 2.5 goals is priced at 3/4.
Manchester City to win 3-0 at 15/2
City are in ruthless mood this season, and Guardiola is focused on winning everything that is available to him. Cardiff are unlikely to pose any real threat, and Warnock's side will also have half a eye on chasing a play-off spot in the Championship.
Bernardo Silva to score anytime at 11/8
With Aguero and Co likely to be rested, Portuguese international Silva could take on an increased responsibility in terms of goal scoring. He has four goals already this season, and his ,movement and runs from midfield will be a threat for the hosts.
