Chelsea v Huddersfield Predictions, Betting Tips and Previews
January 31, 2019
Stamford Bridge - Premier League
Maurizio Sarri's Chelsea host rock bottom Huddersfield this weekend, as they look to get themselves back into the Premier League top four.
Chelsea won 3-0 away at Huddersfield on the opening weekend of the Premier League season, with debutant Jorginho, N'Golo Kante and Pedro all on the score sheet.
The Blues are unbeaten in all three of their Premier League matches against the West Yorkshire side.
Chelsea have no fresh injury concerns ahead of this clash, with Gonzalo Higuain set to start his second game for the club after a midweek debut in the defeat to Bournemouth.
Phillip Billing and Isaac Mbenza are both back in the squad for the home side, but Danny Williams and Abdelhamid Sabiri are both ruled out through injury.
Chelsea v huddersfield Preview and Predictions
Sarri's side slipped up in midweek, with a shock 4-0 defeat at Bournemouth, and the Italian will be demanding a reaction from his players this weekend. Chelsea will go back into the top four with a win, even if it is just for 24 hours, with Arsenal playing Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.
Huddersfield lost Jan Siewert's first game in charge, at home to Everton, however there does look to be positive signs for the club - even if it has come too late to save them from relegation. Given how far adrift of safety they currently are, it is almost impossible to see them digging their way out of trouble before the end of the season.
This should be fairly straightforward for Chelsea, and a home win with a total of over 1.5 goals scored comes in at a very profitable 4/11. They need to respond to that Bournemouth result, and a Chelsea to win both halves bet is available at 6/5.
Chelsea to win 3-0 at 11/2
The Blues will have too much in attack for Huddersfield, particularly with Higuain added to their front line, alongside Pedro, Willian and Eden Hazard. For Huddersfield, if they are to pull off the great escape, it will be through gaining points from teams around them in the table.
Willian to score anytime at 11/8
Brazilian international Willian is the man in form for Chelsea at the moment, with three goals in his last four games in league and cup action. Despite being linked with a deadline day move to PSG, he looks set to have a key role at Chelsea for the remainder of the season.
