Stamford Bridge - Premier League
Antonio Conte's Chelsea welcome Newcastle to Stamford Bridge this weekend, hoping to extend their recent good run of form in the Premier League.
Chelsea hammered Newcastle 5-1 in their Stamford Bridge meeting last season, and picked up a 2-2 draw at St.James' Park. Newcastle did win twice at home during 2013-14 and 2014-15, but they have not won away at Chelsea since 2012, thanks to a Papiss Cisse double.
Chelsea are still without defender David Luiz, who is still sidelined with a knee injury, and he is not expected to be back in action until mid December. There is more positive news about Kenedy and Michy Batshuayi, who are both back in training following ankle injuries, but both players face late fitness tests ahead of the weekend game.
Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez has a few injury concerns ahead of the trip to London, with captain Jamal Lascelles still out of action with an ankle injury, and is not expected to be back for another two weeks.
Midfielder Christian Atsu is also out with a thigh injury, and he joins Paul Dummett on the sidelines, who is recovering from a hamstring injury.
Chelsea v Newcastle Preview and Preview and Predictions
Conte's side are in a very strong run of recent form in recent weeks, winning five of their last six Premier League games, and drawing with rivals Liverpool. They struggled at times against Swansea in their last outing, before winning 1-0, and they are likely to continue their good form against The Magpies.
Defensively they have also impressed, conceding just once in their last seven games in all questions, against Liverpool and they should have little issue keeping out a Newcastle side that have been unable to win in their last five Premier League games.
A home looks very likely and is currently priced at 2/9, for Chelsea to pick up all three points. The Blues should also be able to shut out the Newcastle attack, and they are priced at 4/5 to win to nil.
Over 2.5 goals scored at 3/5
Chelsea have a fine attacking line up at their disposal, with Alvaro Morata, Willian, Eden Hazard and Cesc Fabregas all in excellent recent for for the home side, and against a visiting defence that that are really struggling to keep a clean sheet it could be a case of how many for Chelsea.
Jonjo Shelvey to be carded at 11/5
Former Liverpool midfielder is known for his temper and with what is likely to be a frustrating afternoon for the Magpies player, he could find himself in trouble with the referee, he has already received one red card and two yellows so far this season.
