Goodison Park - Premier League

Everton welcome Crystal Palace to Merseyside this weekend, hoping to bounce back from their 5-1 defeat to Arsenal last time out.

Past Meetings

Everton have a slight edge in their recent meetings with Crystal Palace, winning two of their last six Premier League games against the South London side, with the other four game ending as a draw.

Palace last won against Everton in 2014, through a 3-2 victory at Goodison Park, with current Everton winger Yannick Bolasie scoring the winner for Palace that day.

Team News

Palace manager Alan Pardew has a growing injury list ahead of the trip to Everton, with midfielder Bakary Sako ruled out for the season earlier this week with a broken leg.

He joins Martin Kelly, Jason Puncheon, Scott Dann, Julian Speroni, Jeff Schlupp, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Connor Wickham all still sidelined.

Everton should be able to recall Seamus Coleman to the starting line up after he missed the Arsenal defeat through illness, but fellow defender Leighton Baines is still out.

James McCarthy, Ramiro Funes Mori and Martin Stekelenberg are all out for the remainder of the season.

Everton v Crystal Palace Preview and Prediction

Everton reversed all of their positivity following their 2-1 win over Leicester City, with an abject performance and 5-1 defeat away at Arsenal, and boss Sam Allardyce needs a reaction from his team.

Arsenal have also been a nemesis of Palace in recent weeks, as the only team to beat Roy Hodgson's men (twice) in Premier League action since November 5th 2017.

Both teams should be saved the threat of relegation, but they both need points on the board to remove any lingering doubts of the drop. Everton's form at home under Allardyce has been good, losing just once to Manchester United, and they will make things difficult for Palace in front of their home fans.

However Palace have proved resilient under Hodgson, and a draw looks most likely her, priced at 9/4.

Both sides are also fairly quiet on the goal front at the moment, four goals in their last five league games for Everton, and six in five for Palace, so an under 2.5 goals bet - priced at 4/6.

Recommended Bets

A 1-1 draw at 11/2

Both teams will be wary of the outside threat of being dragged into a relegation scrap, and neither manager will want to leave their team overexposed too much in this game. Expect it to be tight, with honours even at the end.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin to score first at 6/1

Calvert-Lewin came off the bench to score against Arsenal last weekend, and he is set to be restored to the starting line up for this game. He has four Premier League goals so far this season, and the boost of returning to the starting XI will give him real confidence.
