Everton v Ružomberok Predictions, Betting Tips and Previews
July 24, 2017
Thursday 27 July – Goodison Park – Europa League Qualifying
Ronald Koeman’s big-spending Everton welcome Slovak minnows Ružomberok to Goodison Park, as the Merseysiders bid to reach the Europa League’s group stages. After an encouraging summer so far, the hosts are huge favourites in the betting.
This will be the first meeting between the two sides. Everton have warmed up for the game by winning two of their three friendlies so far, while Ružomberok began their league campaign with a defeat at the weekend.
The returning Wayne Rooney will be the major draw for the Goodison faithful. He’ll make his second competitive debut for the Blues, after rejoining the club from Manchester United. Fellow new arrivals Davy Klaassen, Michael Keane, Jordan Pickford and Sandro Ramirez could all start too.
Ružomberok have nowhere near the riches of the Premier League side, paying little to nothing for new signings such as midfielders Matej Kochan and Kristi Qose. Now in his third spell with Ružomberok, former Dundee United forward Miloš Lačný will pose a threat for the visitors.
Everton v Ružomberok Preview and Predictions
After the heavy investment made in the club by new owner Farhad Moshiri, a successful Europa League campaign would be fantastic for Everton. First they must make it through the qualifying stages, and this opening hurdle should pose few problems for Koeman’s side.
It’s an exciting time for the blue half of Merseyside, and there should be a decent crowd at Goodison Park for this one. The home fans will get to see Rooney back in the Everton shirt, and catch a glimpse of some of the other new signings. With all this optimism, the Toffees start this game at 1/7 in the betting.
To get some value out of an Everton win, try looking at scorecasts where you’ll get much higher odds. For example, Rooney is 25/1 to score first in a 4-0 Everton win, while Kevin Mirallas is 40/1 to do the same.
After finishing last season third in the Slovak Super Liga, Ružomberok have already come through the first two rounds of Europa League qualifying. Although this will be their sixth competitive game of the season, the bookmakers don’t fancy the visitors at all. You can get odds of 28/1 on a shock away win, while the draw’s priced at 8/1.
Everton to win to nil at 7/10
Improve your odds on a home win by betting on the Toffees to keep a clean sheet. For what it’s worth, Ružomberok are 36/1 to do the same.
Everton to win both halves at 15/14
Another way to get some value out of Everton is to back them to win both halves. The visitors are a massive 120/1 to do this, which could be worth a cheeky pound!
