Fulham v Arsenal Predictions, Betting Tips and Previews
October 03, 2018
Craven Cottage - Premier League
Unai Emery's Arsenal cross the capital this weekend to take on Fulham in the Sunday lunchtime kick off against Slavisa Jokanovic's newly promoted side.
The last time these two faced each other was back in the 2013-14 season, with Arsenal winning 2-0 and 3-1 home and away respectively, although none of the four goal scorers from those matches are still with either club.
Fulham will wait until the last minute to make a decision on the fitness of defender Alfie Mawson, with the summer signing recovering from a back injury. Neeskens Kebano should be fit to come back in, but full backs Joe Bryan and Timothy Fosu-Mensah are both sidelined through injury.
Bernd Leno is set to start his first Premier League game for Arsenal following his summer transfer, wit Petr Cech out with a hamstring injury. Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Laurent Koscielny and Konstantinos Mavropanos are all still out of action.
Fulham v Arsenal Preview and Preview and Predictions
Fulham are struggling on their return to the top flight, despite the talent at Jokanovic's disposal, with just one Premier League win so far in 2018-19. Arsenal on the other hand have recovered from their poor start, to rack up five wins in a row ahead of their trip to West London.
Emery seems to have got his forward players to click together, and their late 2-0 win over Watford demonstrated that they do have some grit, that they will need for the season ahead.
Fulham do have the potential to do well this season, but they need to dig themselves out of this rut of poor results, and they may struggle to do that this weekend with Arsenal as strong favourites to beat them, at 4/7.
The Gunners have conceded just once in their last three Premier League games, and Fulham have scored just one goal in the same run of league fixtures ahead of Arsenal's visit to Craven Cottage.
With that in mind, an Arsenal win to nil bet looks to be a good option in this one, priced at 9/4.
Arsenal to win 2-0 at 10/1
Emery will be keen for Arsenal to keep their positive momentum going forward, particularly as their rivals Tottenham and Manchester United both play on Saturday, he will not want to lose any potential ground as the season enters into its second quarter.
Alexandre Lacazette to score first at 7/2
French international Lacazette has scored three goals in all competitions so far this season, with two goals in his last four league appearances for The Gunners and Emery looks to have settled on an attacking axis of Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Aaron Ramsey and Mesut Ozil for the foreseeable future.
