April 02, 2019
John Smith's Stadium - Premier League
Relegated Huddersfield host Leicester City this weekend, in their first game since their return to the Championship was confirmed.
Leicester beat Huddersfield 3-1 earlier this season, Kelechi Iheanacho, James Maddison and Jamie Vardy all on the score sheet for the Foxes.
Leicester are unbeaten in their last five meetings with the West Yorkshire side.
Huddersfield bosss Jan Siewert is waiting on fitness tests on four players, who are on the comeback trail from injury, with Laurent Depoitre, Isaac Mbenza, Adama Diakhaby and Demeaco Duhaney all in line to return. Jason Puncheon is also set to start after being ineligible last weekend against parent club Crystal Palace.
Leicester are still without defender Harry Maguire, who is serving the second game of a three match suspension, with Wes Morgan set to remain in the side. Midfielders Daniel Amartey and Marc Albrighton are both still sidelined through injury.
Huddersfield v Leicester City Predictions and Preview
Siewert's side are only playing for pride at this stage, with their relegation finally confirmed following a limp display against Crystal Palace last weekend. However will be up against it when Brendan Rodgers' side come to town, with the Foxes still having plenty to play for in Premier League action.
Leicester are chasing a Europa League spot come the end of the season, and after an dip in form in February, they are right back in the hunt for seventh place. The former Celtic boss has got them back on track and playing attacking football again, and he will want to keep the pressure on Wolves with a win here.
The Terriers misery looks set to continue for at least another week here, with an away win coming in at a price of 8/11.
Rodgers' team have been scoring goals since his arrival, with two or more per game in four of his five games at the helm at the King Power Stadium. With that in mind a Leicester win, with over 1.5 total goals scored is available at a 6/5.
Leicester to win 2-0 at 15/2
The Foxes look to have their confidence back following Rodgers' arrival , with Vardy and Maddison in particular looking to get back to their best form. They will need to keep on collecting points and be on hand in case Wolves do slip.
Jamie Vardy to score any time at 6/5
Fans favourite Vardy has five goals in his last five games for Leicester, and he could break the 20 goal mark for their third time in the last four seasons if he can keep his form up in the coming weeks. Against a depleted Huddersfield side, the pace of Vardy should cause real problems.
