Huddersfield v Manchester United Predictions, Betting Tips and Previews
May 01, 2019
John Smith's Stadium - Premier League
Manchester United make the short trip across to Huddersfield this weekend, looking to keep alive their fading top four hopes.
United won 3-1 at Old Trafford against the Terriers earlier this season, with Paul Pogba scoring twice for the home side.
The Red Devils have won all three of their Premier League meetings with the West Yorkshire side.
Huddersfield will be hopeful that striker Laurent Depoitre can make his long awaited return to first team action this weekend, but Ben Hamer, Aaron Mooy and Abdelhamid Sabiri are all out with injuries.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is likely to be without striker Marcus Rashford, who has been struggling with a shoulder injury in recent weeks. Phil Jones, Eric Bailly and Antonio Valencia are all still well away from a return to action.
Huddersfield v Manchester United Predictions and Preview
Huddersfield's misery continued last weekend with a 5-0 mauling at title chasing Liverpool, as they extended their losing run to eight Premier League games. Jan Siewert's side just want the season to be over with, but they face another tough test this weekend with United looking to cling on to the top four.
United's 1-1 draw at home to Chelsea last weekend means they will have to rely on the Blues slipping up in their final two games to secure a top four finish. Whilst Solskjaer and his players have been struggling of late, they will want to push the top four race right up to the last day if they can with a win.
An away win, priced at 3/10, still brings in some value and should be one of the biggest shoe-ins of the season so far for Solskjaer's side.
The visitors need to make a bit of a statement to try and keep the pressure on Maurizio Sarri's side, and they are at 11/10 to score in both halves in this one.
Manchester United to win 3-0 at 8/1
United need to recapture some sort of form before the end of the season, even if it just to ease the pressure on their new manager in the coming weeks. They are capable of brushing teams aside, and they will be confident of doing just that this weekend.
Paul Pogba to score anytime at 13/10
French international Pogba is still United's top scorer this season, with 16 goals in all competitions, and 13 in the Premier League. He netted twice in the reverse fixture back on Boxing Day and the away fans will be demanding a performance from him this weekend.
