LA Galaxy v Houston Dynamo Predictions, Betting Tips and Previews
June 14, 2017
Sunday June 18 – Stubhub Center – MLS
Struggling LA Galaxy host Houston Dynamo on Sunday, with the hosts desperate for points following a disappointing start to the season.
There is little to pick between the two sides in their limited history of meetings in the MLS, with a win each and a draw since their first match up back in March 2015.
Houston Dynamo do have a slight advantage, having won the last meeting 3-0 at the WakeMed Soccer Park in July 2015.
LA Galaxy will be without a number of key names ahead of Sunday’s crunch game, with injuries hitting the squad hard.
Defender Robbie Rogers remains a long term absentee, with the former Leeds United player not being able to make a single appearance so far this season, as he continues his recovery from an ankle injury.
Fellow defender Daniel Steres is also out with a hamstring injury, as are midfielders Sebastian Lletget and Baggio Husidic who are ruled out with foot and leg injuries respectively.
USA international Jermaine Jones is set for a late fitness on a knee sprain, who has had an extended spell on the sidelines, and his return could be a real boost.
Houston have injury concerns of their own, with defender George Malki out for the season with knee ligament damage.
Midfielder Eric Alexander has also been ruled out with a serious knee injury, and striker Romell Quioto will be assessed later this week as he continues his recovery from an ankle injury.
LA Galaxy v DC United Preview and Predictions
Galaxy are desperate for a result to turn around their inconsistent start to the season, and their recent for certainly shows an upturn. Unbeaten in their last six MLS games, they face Houston in their best run for some time, and should have enough to beat their visitors, with a win priced at 5/6.
Despite their good form, Galaxy have not be in great shape defensively, with injuries affecting them badly in that area. A BTTS bet looks a good option in this case, priced at a interesting 8/13.
LA Galaxy to win 2-1 at 15/2
Galaxy look in an excellent position to get their season back up and running, and their strike force have enough fire power to worry Houston, even if the defence will not keep them out.
Giovani dos Santos to score anytime at 5/4
Former Barcelona and Tottenham striker dos Santos is in a rich vein of form in recent games, with six for the season so far, and five goals in his last five games.
