LA Galaxy v Seattle Sounders Predictions, Betting Tips and Previews
July 26, 2017
Sunday 30 July – StubHub Center – Major League Soccer
The LA Galaxy welcome the Seattle Sounders to the StubHub Center in the early hours of Sunday morning, as the hosts look to get back to winning ways. Time’s running out for Curt Onalfo’s side if they want to reach the post season for the ninth consecutive season.
The Seattle Sounders recorded an impressive 3-0 win when the two teams met at the StubHub Center in April. After winning 4-2 at the LA Galaxy’s home last season, the Sounders go in search of their third victory in a row in Los Angeles.
Defender Robbie Rogers is a long term absentee for the LA Galaxy, after injuring his ankle. Sebastian Lletget continues to miss out after undergoing foot surgery, although Baggio Husidic is nearing a return to fitness. The midfielder has returned to training after fracturing a leg in May.
The visitors are likely to be without Designated Player Clint Dempsey, who’s been on duty for the US national team. This game comes just a few days after the Gold Cup final against Jamaica. The Sounders will welcome back Nicolas Lodeiro though, after the Uruguayan served a suspension at the weekend.
LA Galaxy v Seattle Sounders Preview and Predictions
This is a massive game for the hosts, against one of the teams they have a chance of catching. Defeat for the LA Galaxy would be a disaster, while a win for the visitors would do their playoff ambitions no harm at all.
It’s been an alarming slump in form for the Galaxy, who’ve lost seven of their last eight games. This includes defeats in the US Open Cup and in a friendly against Manchester United, but they’re defeats nonetheless. The last game against the New England Revolution was a helter-skelter 4-3 thriller, with Onalfi looking to tighten up his defence ahead of this one. Despite their poor form, LA start this game as slight favourites in the betting at 11/8.
After a disappointing start to the season, the Sounders have started to pick up their own form over the last couple of months. After winning their last three MLS games, they’re looking to make it a fourth straight victory against the Galaxy. You can back them at 15/8 to keep up their hot streak, while the draw’s available at 13/5.
LA Galaxy to win both halves at 7/1
Back the home side to stop the rot against the Sounders and finally give their supporters something to shout about with this bet.
Jordan Morris to score first at 7/1
The American forward has scored three goals in his last two games against the Galaxy. He’s available at the same 7/1 price to score the last goal of the game too.
