Leicester City v Crystal Palace Predictions, Betting Tips and Previews
December 15, 2017
King Power Stadium - Premier League
Leicester City host Roy Hodgson's Crystal Palace this weekend, with the Foxes looking to extend their four game winning run in front of their home fans.
Leicester have a very good record against Crystal Palace in their most recent meetings. The Foxes are unbeaten in their last four, winning three and drawing one.
Crystal Palace last defeated the 2015-16 Premier League champions in 2015, with a 1-0 win at Leicester thanks to a 1-0 victory.
Crystal Palace have some defensive issues ahead of the trip to the East Midlands, with Hodgson missing three first team defenders through injury. Damien Delaney, Martin Kelly and Mamadou Sakho are all sidelined, while striker Connor Wickham remains out with a long term knee problem.
Leicester boss Claude Puel has no fresh injury worries ahead of Palace's visit, and could name an unchanged side from the one that beat Southampton in midweek. Robert Huth and Matty James are the only long term injury absentees, with respective foot and ankle injuries.
Leicester City v Crystal Palace Preview and Predictions
Leicester are on a roll at the moment, winning their last four Premier League games in a row. Puel has had a dream start to life as manager at the club, with just one loss in his first seven games in charge.
Crystal Palace have hauled themselves off the foot of the table, and currently sit in 18th place. They're on a run of six games without defeat in the Premier League, including four draws and two home wins.
Given Leicester's recent form and Palace's struggles on the road this season with no away wins in 2017-18, this game looks set to be a home win, which is currently priced at 10/11. The Eagles are available at 15/4, while the draw's 13/5.
The Foxes have also been in good goalscoring form of late, netting 10 goals in their last four games. Palace meanwhile have scored four in their last two, so with that in mind an over 2.5 goals bet could be a good option and is priced at 10/11.
Leicester to win 2-1 at 17/2
Palace's recent solid run means they're likely to get themselves on the scoresheet, particularly as Leicester have only kept one clean sheet under Puel. However the hosts are playing with real confidence at the moment, and that should be enough to secure all three points in this Saturday lunchtime kick off.
Riyad Mahrez to score first at 13/2
Algerian international Mahrez has been a leading light for Leicester in recent weeks, scoring three goals in his last four games. His pace and trickery will be a real issue for a makeshift Palace backline on Saturday.
