Leicester City v Fulham Predictions, Betting Tips and Previews
March 05, 2019
King Power Stadium - Premier League
Two new yet familiar faces take charge of their teams for the second time as Leicester host Fulham at the King Power on Saturday afternoon. Both Brendan Rodgers and Scott Parker suffered defeats in their first matches at the helm of their new clubs last weekend, and are looking for a more positive outcome this time round.
Fulham took the lead but couldn’t hold on as the teams drew 1-1 at Craven Cottage back in December. That was the first time the clubs had met since a 2013 League Cup tie, which Leicester won 4-3. The four most recent meetings before this season were all in cup competitions, and produced 23 goals, with both teams scoring on each occasion.
Jamie Vardy has given Leicester cause for concern this week, although the Foxes hitman should be fit for this game. Marc Albrighton is the only player who’s definitely missing for the hosts, as he continues to recover from a bad hamstring injury.
Andre Schurrle is a doubt for this game after a viral infection, although it’s anticipated that he’ll be okay to play on Saturday. Marcus Bettinelli and Alfie Mawson are both recovering from knee surgery, and are therefore unavailable for this game.
Leicester City v Fulham Preview and Predictions
Different circumstances, but both of these teams have failed to live up to expectations this season, which is why they’ve both sacked their managers. They both also lost 2-1 last weekend, with the new bosses looking to inject some positivity into their clubs.
Leicester showed plenty of heart as they almost came from behind to beat Watford on Saturday, but instead conceded a poor late goal to lose the match. The Foxes have been losing at both half-time and full-time in six of their last eight Premier League matches, but the players seem to be responding well to Rodgers and they face a Fulham side here in even worse form.
The Cottagers have been behind at half-time and full-time in nine of their last 10 away games, and have lost 12 of their last 13 on the road. Parker also inherits a defence that’s conceded at least two goals in each of Fulham’s last nine matches. For that reason, it’s probably best to stay away from the away team, who are 5/1 in the betting.
Leicester meanwhile are 4/7, as they look to move into the top half of the Premier League table. The Foxes beat Brighton in their last game on home soil, and they should put another three points on the board here. If you think the teams will share the spoils, the draw’s priced at 17/5.
Leicester to win and BTTS at 49/20
This fixture has produced plenty of goals in the past, while both sides have been leaking goals this season - especially Fulham, who have the Premier League’s worst defensive record by some distance.
Over 4.5 goals at 5/1
Considering Fulham’s defence, this bet could always be possible in games the Cottagers are involved in at the moment. You can add the home team to it as the winners for 33/5.
