Leicester City v West Brom Predictions, Betting Tips and Previews
October 12, 2017
King Power Stadium - Premier League
Premier League football returns to the King Power after the international break, as Leicester City host West Brom on Monday evening. Both teams are without a victory in their last five games, and need to get back to winning ways.
Leicester have won three of their last five games against West Brom, although the Baggies won seven of the nine before that. Both teams won away from home last season, with goals from James Morrison and Matt Phillips helping to secured the points for West Brom at the King Power.
Jamie Vardy’s been struggling with a hip problem of late, but he’s expected to lead the Leicester line on Monday. There’s a slight doubt over Wilfred Ndidi, while Robert Huth remains sidelined with a foot injury. Matty James continues to recover from an achilles problem, but could be back in a couple of weeks.
For the visitors, goalscorer in this game last season James Morrison faces a late fitness test after a calf strain. It’s the same for both Nacer Chadli who has a back issue, and Hal Robson-Kanu who picked up a problem on international duty for Wales.
Leicester City v West Brom Preview and Predictions
While they’ve been disappointing on the whole this season, Leicester’s recent good form against West Brom means that they’ll go into Monday’s game with a degree of confidence. After taking all three points home from the King Power last season, the Baggies won’t be a pushover though.
There’s some mitigation for the struggles that Craig Shakespeare’s side have seen, as the Foxes have played four of the Premier League’s top seven teams. They’ve still managed to score more goals than anyone outside the top eight though, so there’s plenty of optimism that Leicester can start to pull themselves away from the relegation zone. They need to start beating the teams around them though, and they’re priced at 11/10 for the win against West Brom.
Tony Pulis’ team meanwhile have been struggling for goals, and no player’s managed to find the net more than once so far. Salomon Rondon and new signing Jay Rodriguez both also netted in the League Cup, and the Baggies boss would love for those two to strike up a better understanding. The visitors go into this one as underdogs at 3/1, while the draw’s available at 12/5.
Jamie Vardy to score in Leicester win at 2/1
The England striker has bagged five of Leicester’s nine Premier League goals so far this season, so if the Foxes win there’s a great chance he’ll be on the scoresheet.
Leicester to win to nil at 12/5
Back the hosts to claim the three points and keep a clean sheet against the goal shy Baggies to boot.
