Leicester v Bournemouth Predictions, Betting Tips and Previews
August 27, 2019
King Power Stadium - Premier League
Leicester City are unbeaten after their first three games of the new season, as they welcome Bournemouth to the King Power this weekend. The Cherries meanwhile suffered their first defeat of the season on Sunday, but that came against champions Manchester City.
Past Meetings
Both teams won their home games against the other last season, with Bournemouth tonking Leicester 4-2 at the Vitality before the Foxes exacted their revenge with a 2-0 victory back at the King Power. There were three straight draws before that, with each side winning one apiece of the previous four.
Team News
Jamie Vardy leads the line for Leicester after thoroughly enjoying his first goal of the season away to Sheffield United last weekend. Ben Chilwell could make his return after missing that matched following an injection, while Wilfred Ndidi is expected to miss out with a hamstring strain.
Eddie Howe has an injury nightmare on his hands, with eight players currently on the treatment table. David Brooks and Dan Gosling are out until October, while Simon Francis will be missing for another month or so. Charlie Daniels, Lewis Cook, Lloyd Kelly, Junior Stanislas and Arnaut Groeneveld are the other players expected to miss this match.
Leicester vs. Bournemouth Preview and Predictions
While Bournemouth were a little unfortunate not to have the opportunity to play against 10 men for the majority of their game against Manchester City, Leicester didn’t need any helping hand to claim their first victory of the campaign at Bramall Lane.
Harvey Barnes settled the Foxes’ contest against newly-promoted Sheffield United with a stunning strike just after coming on as a substitute, and the youngster will hope that’s enough to see him promoted into the starting XI. Brendan Rodgers has plenty of options in the final third, with James Maddison showing his quality once again with a delightful through-ball for Vardy’s opener.
The hosts start this game as the clear favourites for the win on Saturday, priced at 3/4. Leicester have never lost at home to Bournemouth in the Premier League, and they’ve made a strong start to the new campaign after having to play Chelsea and Wolves, before an away trip to a jumping Bramall Lane.
Bournemouth meanwhile are available at 21/5. The Cherries have won their only other game on the road so far this term, beating Aston Villa 2-1 in their second fixture. Considering their opponent and devastating injury list, a draw would be a solid result for Bournemouth, and that’s priced at 16/5 in the betting.
