Liverpool v Huddersfield Predictions, Betting Tips and Previews
April 22, 2019
Anfield - Premier League
Premier League title hopefuls Liverpool host Huddersfield in Friday night action, as they look to keep their title challenge on track in the coming weeks.
Liverpool won 1-0 away at Huddersfield earlier this season, with Mo Salah netting the winner in West Yorkshire. Jurgen Klopp's side have won all Premier League three meetings with The Terriers.
Fabinho will miss out for the hosts after he suffered a concussion in the weekend win over Cardiff, and the Brazilian international is the only fresh injury doubt for the Reds. Dejan Lovren and Adam Lallana are both still sidelined, but Klopp could give some game time to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Joe Gomez and Divock Origi.
Huddersfield are still without Laurent Depoitre, Adama Diakhaby, Abdelhamid Sabiri and Jonathan Hogg.
Liverpool v Huddersfield Preview and Predictions
Klopp has his side in auto-repeat mode at the moment, and they are simply hoping to outlast Manchester City in their push to win a first title in 29 years. Liverpool should win their last three games of the season, including this one o Friday, but whether or not that will be enough is not yet certain.
Huddersfield probably want the season to end already, given their relegation being confirmed a few weeks ago, and they are likely to just go through the motions at Anfield. Their form gives little hope that they will even manage a goal on Merseyside, with three goals in their last seven away matches in the Premier League.
Liverpool to win is a easy bet, but a Reds win with over 2.5 total goals scored in the game coming in at 1/4. At home, Liverpool have not suffered from any jittering title nerves in 2019, and they should use this game as a chance to boost their goal difference - and Liverpool to score both halves is at 2/5.
Liverpool to win 3-0 at
Klopp's side need no additional motivation in the coming weeks, and they will just want to keep ticking the boxes between now and the end of the season. The Champions League semi final against Barcelona is on the back burner for now, and the home side will want to keep going.
Mo Salah to score first at 12/5
Salah is Liverpool's leading scorer in the Premier League again this season, with 19 goals in league action in 2018-19. The Egyptian international has two goals in his last four appearances, and he will need to keep his form going if Liverpool are to achieve their objective.
