Anfield - Premier League
Premier League champions Manchester City travel to Liverpool on Saturday, with the two sides tied on top of the league table. Both sides have only failed to win one game this season, and have scored 36 goals between them in doing so.
Liverpool were Manchester City's bogey team last season, beating them both domestically and in the Champions League. The most recent fixture, a 2-1 win for the Reds saw goals from Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino, outdoing Gabriel Jesus' strike.
Liverpool v Manchester City Preview and Predictions
Liverpool's last minute equaliser against Chelsea last weekend will have provided a massive boost to Jurgen Klopp's team, who have looked not quite up to their last season form. The manager will be delighted to have witnessed Daniel Sturridge's return to goalscoring, especially given Mohamed Salah's comparative struggles.
The former Dortmund man's opposite number has had no such problems, with Manchester City looking lethal in the league so far this season. However, Pep Guardiola's side has shown their vulnerability in Europe, with an opening day defeat to Lyon followed up by conceding a goal after just 44 seconds against Hoffenheim mid-week. Having not quite settled on his first choice defence, the Spaniard has been experimenting with a back three, and rotating his centre-back almost every game. Against a Liverpool side that enjoys going forward, this could well be their undoing.
This having been said, the league leaders front line has proven their ability time and time again to outshoot their opposition, with Sergio Aguero's injury not preventing him from continuing his phenomenal scoring record. Likewise, Leroy Sane has picked his form up, having received criticism from his coach and teammates at the beginning of the season.
With the top spot in the balance, Liverpool will be desperate to avoid a loss, but are not the type of team to drop back and defend for a draw. Instead, both sides prefer to attack, and Saturday promises to be a highly entertaining fixture.
Sergio Aguero to score anytime at 11/8
The Argentinian forward can't stop scoring and is keeping the highly impressive Gabriel Jesus on the bench at the moment.
Liverpool to win 2-1 at 10/1
The last two editions of this fixture ended with a 2-1 win for Klopp's side.
