Etihad Stadium - Premier League

Defending Premier League champions Manchester City host Brighton this weekend, looking to close the gap at the top with Liverpool.

Past Meetings

City won home and away against Brighton last season, in The Seagulls first ever Premier League season, with an aggregate score of 5-2 across the two matches.

Team News

Manchester City will be without five first team players due to long term injuries, with Danilo, Kevin De Bruyne, Claudio Bravo, Benjamin Mendy and Eliaquim Mangala all still out of action.

Brighton are hopeful that attacker Jose Izquierdo is fit to play following a knee injury, but he faces a late fitness test. Midfielders Pascal Gross and Dale Stephens are both still sidelined.

Manchester City v Brighton Preview and Predictions

City have been near perfect so far this season, with a draw away at Wolves the only result keeping them from a 100% start to the Premier League season.

They are still a real force at home, beating Huddersfield, Newcastle and Fulham already, and a Brighton side that have won just once so far this season, are unlikely to cause them too many problems.

Even without De Bruyne, City still pose a huge attacking threat, and they have scored 19 goals in league action already in 2018-19, and they should be on fire this weekend.

With that in mind, a City win, with a total of over 2.5 goals scored comes in at a price of 4/11.

Chris Hughton's side have struggle on the road this season, scoring just two goals in three away games in league action, and they will find it tough going again this weekend.

A City win, and a clean sheet for Pep Guardiola's men is available at 4/7.

Recommended Bets

Manchester City to win 3-0 at 11/2

Guardiola wants to get back on level terms with Liverpool as the season enters into its third month, and with Jurgen Klopp's side showing real consistency, he knows that his side need a convincing win this weekend to keep their momentum going.

Sergio Aguero to score first at 9/4

Argentina international Aguero has scored six goals already this season, with one goal in their win over Cardiff last weekend, and he scored in the 2-0 against Hughton's team on the South Coast last season.
