Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has defender Benjamin Mendy back in full training, but he is not likely not likely to displace Oleksandr Zinchenko at left back.
Nicolas Otamendi's horror show against Norwich City last weekend, may force Guardiola into a reshuffle at the back, with Fernandinho replacing Aymeric Laporte, instead of the Argentinean international.
New Watford boss Quique Sanchez Flores will still be without captain Troy Deeney, as he recovers from surgery, while Northern Ireland international Craig Cathcart is also still sidelined.
Manchester City v Watford Preview and Predictions
City and Guardiola will be seething following their shock 3-2 loss away at Norwich City last weekend, with defensive frailties ruthlessly punished by Daniel Farke's side at Carrow Road. Guardiola knows his side need to click back into action immediately, as rivals Liverpool have already opened up a five point lead at the top of the Premier League table.
Watford enjoyed a fantastic start to life under returning boss Flores, picking up a 2-2 draw at home to Unai Emery's Arsenal, thanks to an excellent second half showing form the Hornets. Despite the positivity of Flores' return to the club, anything other than a routine win for the home side here would be a real problem for Guardiola - and they should have more than enough to win - priced at 1/10.
When City have suffered a shock result in the past the have generally responded with a statemented performance to quell any potential doubts, and that should be the case here - and a City to win both halves bet is available at 19/20.
Manchester City to win 3-0 at 7/1
Nothing more than a win and a strong performance will do for the hosts, who, despite the early stage of the season, know they cannot afford to cede any further ground to Liverpool in the title race.
Sergio Aguero to score anytime at 2/5
City's main man is bang in form this season, currently joint top scorer in the division, alongside Chelsea's Tammy Abraham, with seven Premier League goals so far in 2019-20. His record against Watford is also very strong, with seven goals in his last five appearances against Flores' side.
