Notts County v Swansea Predictions, Betting Tips and Previews
January 24, 2018
Meadow Lane - FA Cup
In-form League Two side Notts County welcome Premier League side Swansea City this weekend, hopeful of causing an FA Cup upset.
The last time these two met was in the 2004-05 season, when both sides were in League Two, with one win apiece that season.
The last time Swansea won away at Notts County came back in 2000 in the old Division Two.
Notts County boss Kevin Nolan should have a fully fit squad to pick from ahead of the visit of Swansea, with no fresh injury concerns. He can call on plenty of Premier League experience in his ranks, with former Bolton Wanderers team mate Nicky Hunt, Jon Stead and Shola Ameobi all set to start.
Swansea boss Carlos Carvahal will hand late fitness tests to three of his players before deciding on his team, with Renato Sanches, Tammy Abraham and Angel Rangel all set to be assessed.
Notts County v Swansea Preview and Predictions
Notts County are performing well this season, up to second place in League Two and they face Swansea having lost just two of their last 14 games in all competitions.
The form of Stead has been key this season, scoring in all three rounds of the FA Cup so far and with nine goals so far this campaign he is second top scorer behind Jorge Grant.
Swansea picked up a key win in their last game against Liverpool, beating Jurgen Klopp's side 1-0 on Monday night. They are also unbeaten in their last four games in all competitions, including a draw and a replay win over Championship high fliers Wolves.
They key here will be Swansea's starting line up, as Carvahal is likely to field a young side as he looks to balance the FA Cup with the greater concern of Premier League survival.
With that in mind, Notts County could capitalise and cause an upset - with a home win priced at 7/2.
It will be tight, and Notts County are not a particularly high scoring side, netting five goals in their last five games. An under 2.5 goals bet looks a good option, priced at 4/6.
Notts County to win 1-0 at 9/1
The hosts have nothing to lose in this game, and given their recent form they will cause Swansea problems. The Welsh side have bigger fish to fry and a second string Swansea may not have enough to get past the Meadow Lane side.
Jon Stead to score first at 15/2
The former Blackburn man scored the winner against Brentford in the Third Round, to keep up his perfect record this season. He has the experience to be a real handful for a youthful Swansea team.
