St. Mary's Stadium - Premier League
Huddersfield head to Southampton for their final game as a Premier League side in 2019, with the hosts already safe from relegation to the Championship.
Southampton won 3-1 at Huddersfield back in December 2018, with Nathan Redmond, Danny Ings and Michael Obafemi all on target at the John Smith's Stadium that day.
The Terriers have never beaten Southampton in Premier League action.
Southampton defender Mayo Yoshida could return after missing the 3-0 defeat at West Ham last weekend through illness, but Jannik Vestegaard, Alex McCarthy and Obafemi are all out of action.
Huddersfield boss Jan Siewert will give late fitness tests to Laurent Depoitre, Ben Hamer and Martin Jorgensen ahead of the long trip to the South Coast this weekend.
Southampton v Huddersfield Preview and Predictions
Ralph Hasenhuttl's side have already ensured that they will be remaining in the Premier League for another season, after their 3-3 draw with Bournemouth a fortnight ago. The Saints were then blown away by West Ham last weekend, but they should have too much against rock bottom Huddersfield on the final day of the 2018-19 season.
Huddersfield fans were finally given something to cheer last weekend, as Isaac Mbenza's goal against Manchester united secured an unlikely 1-1 draw, and ended an eight game losing streak. Despite that result, the Terriers just want this season to be over and done with as they prepare for a return to the Championship - and Southampton should pick up the win.
With no real pressure on either side, the Saints should be free to go out and give the home fans a lift on the final day, with a Southampton win coming in at a tempting 4/11. Mbenza's goal was Huddersfield's first third in six games, and they could cause a few problems for the home defence - and with that in mind, a BTTS bet is available at 5/6.
Southampton to win 3-1 at 12/1
The Saints have been good at home in 2019, with just two defeats in eight Premier League games since the turn of the year, at the St. Mary's Stadium. Given the opposition this weekend they will be confident of another win, and potentially sneaking up to a 15th place finish.
Shane Long to score anytime at 6/5
The Republic of Ireland international has hit a rich vein of form in recent weeks, with four goals in his last six appearances for the Saints - including a record breaking strike against Watford. He should start up front again, partnered by either Danny Ings or Charlie Austin.
