Stoke City v Leicester City Predictions, Betting Tips and Previews
October 31, 2017
Bet365 Stadium - Premier League
Stoke welcome Leicester to the Bet365 for the weekend’s Saturday lunchtime game, after both sides recorded encouraging wins last time out.
Things are relatively even between these two over recent years. In the last 14 games, both teams have won five times. During this period there’s only been two away wins, although the last two games between the clubs at the Bet365 have ended 2-2, while Leicester won the meeting before 1-0.
Geoff Cameron is a slight doubt after the defender missed Stoke’s last game. If the American doesn’t make it, Kevin Wimmer will start again after putting in a good performance in the win over Watford. Peter Crouch is another doubt with a back problem, while Bruno Martins Indi is nearing a return after a hamstring injury.
Leicester’s Robert Huth remains on the sidelines with a foot problem, so Claude Puel will partner captain Wes Morgan with Harry Maguire in central defence once again. The only other player the new Foxes boss is without is Matty James, who is getting close to fitness after an Achilles injury.
Stoke City v Leicester City Preview and Predictions
After a relatively poor start to the season, Leicester can climb up to eighth with a win on Saturday, albeit until the teams they overtake play their weekend fixtures. Stoke’s form has been very up and down too, but they’d rise into the top half of the Premier League table with a victory of their own.
After getting thrashed by Manchester City and falling to a home defeat against Bournemouth, the pressure was building on Stoke boss Mark Hughes. The Potters reacted in superb fashion by taking all three points from Vicarage Road against an in-form Watford. There’s still more to come from the likes of Jese and Xherdan Shaqiri this season, and the hosts will need their creative players to be firing to break down an improving Leicester defence.
The visitors will look to break with pace on the counter as ever. The Foxes’ first goal in their victory over Everton on Sunday was a stunning reminder of their searing ability on the break, as Demarai Gray, Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy combined to devastating effect. If you think Leicester will record their third straight Premier League victory, the odds on an away win are 19/10. Stoke are available at 6/4, while the draw’s priced at 12/5.
Stoke to win to nil at 18/5
Bet on Stoke’s three centre backs to keep Leicester quiet on the break, as you improve your odds on the home win.
Vardy to score first in 2-1 Leicester win at 30/1
Or back the visitors to pick up the points as Vardy continues his impressive start to the season.
