Stoke City v Liverpool Predictions, Betting Tips and Previews

Bet365 Stadium - Premier League
After the disappointment of conceding a late equaliser against Chelsea on Saturday, Liverpool travel to Stoke for this midweek fixture. The hosts could use a win to boost confidence as they slip down towards the relegation zone.
Liverpool have won their last four Premier League games against Stoke, including back-to-back 4-1 victories at Anfield. The Reds also dumped the Potters out of last season’s League Cup at the semi-final stage, although they needed sudden death penalties after both sides won 1-0 away from home.
Jack Butland is still a couple of weeks away from being available, as the England goalkeeper continues his recovery from a broken finger. Geoff Cameron is also expected to miss out once again after suffering a concussion against Bournemouth over a month ago.
After missing the game against Chelsea with a back injury, Dejan Lovren is set to be out for this one. Joel Matip and Ragnar Klavan will continue at centre back in the Croatian’s absence. Emre Can is also a doubt with a muscular problem while Nathaniel Clyne is a long term absentee.
Stoke City v Liverpool Preview and Predictions
Stoke have looked short of confidence since they were hammered 7-2 by Manchester City last month, winning just one game in the five they’ve played since. Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp meanwhile will be looking for a reaction from his players after two disappointing draws in a row.
The defeat against bottom club Crystal Palace was particularly painful for Stoke manager Mark Hughes, after his side took the lead through Xherdan Shaqiri. Throw in the injury time winner scored by Mamadou Sakho after Ryan Shawcross should’ve won it for Stoke and it was a nightmare all round for the Potters as the pressure starts to ramp up on their boss.
There was late disappointment for Liverpool too in the form of Willian’s equalising goal after Mohamed Salah continued his fine goalscoring run. Whether it was intentional or not, the Chelsea forward’s goal prevented the Reds from securing a real foothold in the race for the Champions League places.
Liverpool will start this game as favourites in the betting, and you can back them at 3/5. Stoke meanwhile are priced at 21/4, while it’s 7/2 if you think the game will end in a draw.
Liverpool to win 4-1 at 22/1
Back the visitors to record another 4-1 win over Stoke as the pressure builds on Potters boss Hughes.
Peter Crouch to score and Stoke to win 1-0 at 100/1
It’d be some story if the former Liverpool striker came off the bench to break the deadlock and secure a huge win for the Potters.
