Swansea v West Brom Predictions, Betting Tips and Previews
December 05, 2017
Liberty Stadium - Premier League
Struggling Swansea City welcome West Brom to South Wales this weekend, with both sides in need of a morale boosting win in the Premier League.
Previous meetings between these two sides tell a fairly even story between the two sides, with a home win each in the Premier League last season. The Baggies' last win at the Liberty Stadium came back in 2014-15, through a 2-1 victory and goals from Stephane Sessegnon and Youssouf Mulumbu.
West Brom will be without veteran midfielder Gareth Barry, who misses out through a thigh injury, but fellow midfielder Matty Phillips should have recovered from a hamstring problem in time to play.
Long term injury victims Nacer Chadli, Chris Brunt, Craig Daswon and James Morrison are all still out of action for Alan Pardew's side.
Swansea manager Paul Clement has no fresh injury worries ahead of the visit of West Brom, and he could name an unchanged side from the one that faced Stoke City last weekend.
Kyle Bartley is still absent from the first team with a long term knee injury, and the defender will not be back in action until the new year.
Swansea City v West Brom Preview and Predictions
Swansea are bottom of the Premier League table and Clement's side are in a terrible run of real form in recent weeks, losing six of their last seven Premier League games and without a win since mid October.
However their opponents this weekend are in an even worse run of form, without a win in a whopping 13 Premier League games in a run that stretches back to August.
Pardew's first game in charge ended as a 0-0 draw against fellow strugglers Crystal Palace, and with so much at stake in this one a draw looks pretty likely as well on Saturday - with a draw priced at 21/10.
Neither side are in excellent goal scoring form during their poor runs, with West Brom scoring three goals in their last five games and Swansea finding the net just once in their last five games.
With that in mind an under 2.5 goals bet is priced at 4/9.
A 1-1 draw at 9/2
Both sides are really struggling at the moment, Clement's position at Swansea is in real jeopardy and Pardew is keen to make a strong start to life as West Brom manager. However neither boss will want to leave themselves too exposed in this game, which will likely lead to them cancelling each other out.
Tammy Abraham to score first at 9/2
Chelsea loanee has been a lone bright spark for Swansea this season, scoring scoring four Premier League goals in 12 appearances and leading the scoring charts for the Welsh club. His pace and persistence will be a real cause for concern for a West Brom defence that are not at their strongest going back towards their own goal.
