West Ham v Leicester City Predictions, Betting Tips and Previews
April 16, 2019
London Stadium - Premier League
West Ham host Leicester this weekend, with both sides battling it out to finish the season in the Europa League qualification spots.
Leicester drew 1-1 at home with the Hammers when they faced each other back in October, with Wilfred Ndidi scoring a late equaliser for the Foxes.
The Hammers are unbeaten in their last three games against Leicester.
West Ham's injury issues are showing some signs of clearing, with Jack Wilshere and Carlos Sanchez returning from long term injuries, alongside Marko Arnauovic - who missed last weekend's defeat at Old Trafford.
But Andy Carroll, Andriy Yarmolenko, Winston Reid, Samir Nasri and Manuel Lanzini are all still sidelined through injury.
Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has no fresh injury concerns ahead of the trip to the capital - with full back Daniel Amartey still out of action with an ankle injury.
West Ham v Leicester Predictions and Preview
Three defeats in a row has seen West Ham slip down to 11th in the Premier League table, meaning their hopes of securing a Europa League qualification spot is in real danger. That dip in form has dented confidence in the squad, and they look to have downed tools already ahead of the end of the 2018-19 campaign.
Leicester on the other hand, have moved up into seventh place and the current favourites to clinch the remaining European qualification place. Rodgers' side have won four of their last five league games, and head to the London Stadium with their tails up following a positive impact since his arrival from Celtic.
With the home side struggling for form, and Leicester looking like a team on a mission, a Foxes win looks to be a strong shout in his tie - priced a 6/5. Leicester have been amongst the goals in recent weeks, scoring two or more goals in each of Rodgers' five wins as manager and they will be hopeful of racking up a few more in East London. With that in mind, an over 2.5 total goals scored bet comes in at 8/11.
Leicester City to win 2-1 at 9/1
The Foxes are on a mission to end the season on a high, where West Ham's campaign already looks to had fizzled out in the past month, and that should tip this one in the visitors favour.
Jamie Vardy to score anytime at 5/4
Vardy clearly enjoys playing under Rodgers, having netted eight goals in seven Premier League games since he came into the club. He has 15 Premier League goals so far in 2018-19, and he will have his eye on hitting 20 league goals for he second season in a row.
