London Stadium - Premier League

West Ham will be looking to continue the good recent form under new boss David Moyes as they welcome Newcastle this weekend.

Past Meetings

Newcastle have the edge in terms of recent meetings with the Hammers, with Rafa Benitez's side winnings their last two games against the Tyneside club.

West Ham's last victory over Newcastle came back in 2015, through a 2-0 win at Upton park courtesy of two Dmitri Payet goals.

Team News

Newcastle are still without Jonjo Shelvey, as her serves the second match of a three game ban following his second red card of the season against Everton. Other than Shelvey's absence, Benitez has a full squad to pick from with no new injuries.

West Ham will give late fitness tests to Andy Carroll and Cheickhou Kouyate as they both recover from injuries that have kept the sidelined for a fortnight. Defensive pair Jose Fonte and Sam Byram are both long term absentees for Moyes' side.

West Ham v Newcastle Preview and Predicitons

Moyes looks to have stamped his authority on things at West Ham in recent weeks, with the Hammers unbeaten in three games - including wins over Chelsea and Stoke and a draw against Arsenal.

Confidence has risen slightly at the club, with the home supporters hopeful that this good run can roll on against Newcastle this weekend.

Newcastle on the other hand are in an awful run of form, without a win since October 21st, a run that stretches across nine Premier League games.

Give West Ham's recent run, they are favourites here, and a home win is priced at 21/20.

West Ham beat Chelsea 1-0, and held Arsenal to a 0-0 draw in their last home games, so this ins unlikely to be a goal fest on Saturday, an under 2.5 goals bet is priced at 4/6.

Recommended Bets

West Ham to win 1-0 at 13/2

The Hammers look likely to make a real fight of their battle to avoid the drop, and correct their early season form. A win over Newcastle, who themselves look to be in free fall, this weekend will be a huge boost in their attempts to do this.

Marko Arnautovic to score first at 11/2

Austrian international Arnautovic was the hero by scoring the winner against Chelsea, and he scored the breakthrough goal against Stoke last weekend. If he is in the mood against Newcastle then he could cause them some real problems.
