West Ham v Swansea Predictions and Betting Tips
April 06, 2017
Saturday 8 April – London Stadium – Premier League
Relegation threatened Swansea travel to London on Saturday hoping for a win to boost their hopes of Premier League survival. West Ham have meanwhile been sucked dangerously close to the drop zone by recent results.
West Ham the slight edge in their meetings with the Welsh side, winning four of their Premier League meetings, compared to Swansea’s two wins.
The Hammers also won 4-1 at the Liberty Stadium earlier this season, but the Swans are much improved with Paul Clement at the helm.
West Ham have a number of injury concerns ahead of this one, with full back Aaron Cresswell set to miss out with an ankle problem. The defender has endured rotten luck with injuries this season, and that looks set to continue.
Pedro Obiang and New Zealand international Winston Reid are both still sidelined with long term injuries.
Fellow defender Michail Antonio and forward Diafra Sakho should both return from hamstring and back injuries respectively, to boost the hosts.
Swansea can welcome back key striker Fernando Llorente, with the Spaniard recovering from an ankle problem. However Leon Britton, Angel Rangel and Nathan Dyer are all still some way from a first team return.
West Ham v Swansea Preview and Predictions
Slaven Bilic’s Hammers are in a dreadful run of form, without a win in their last six games, with a run of four consecutive defeats.
Confidence is clearly low with the hosts ahead of this game, and they have not kept a clean sheet at home since beating Crystal Palace in January.
Swansea are not in great form either, with just one win in their last four games, but in contrast to their hosts they look on an upward curve away from relegation.
Their away form has been a little troubling for Clement, with their last win on the road coming against Liverpool in January.
Despite their poor form West Ham have been good in front of goal recently, and with Llorente and Gylfi Sigurdsson the visitors should also get on the scoresheet, a Both Teams To Score bet is a good option at 8/13.
Swansea need the points more than West Ham, who have essentially secured their top flight survival, and that could be enough for Swansea to nick a win, priced at 11/4.
Llorente to score first at 6/1
The former Juventus man is Swansea’s leading scorer this season, with 11 Premier League goals, and he has three goals in his last four games.
Swansea to win 1-0 at 12/1
This is unlikely to be a classic between two out of form teams, but Swansea have the edge in current form and West Ham appear to be stuck in a real rut.
