West Ham v Watford Predictions, Betting Tips and Previews
February 06, 2018
London Stadium - Premier League
West Ham host Watford this weekend, with David Moyes' side looking to end their run of three Premier League games without a win.
Watford have the edge in terms of recent meetings, winning two of their last three games against the Hammers - including a 2-0 victory at Vicarage Road earlier this season.
West Ham's last win over the Hornets came in a 3-1 win at Upton Park, with two Mark Noble penalties securing all three points.
West Ham are still without full back Arthur Masuaku, who is two games into a six game banning for spitting during their FA Cup loss to Wigan.
Forward Marko Arnautovic will undergo a late fitness test on a hamstring injury to see if he is fit to start, but Manuel Lanzini, Pedro Obiang, Andy Carroll and Edmilson Fernandes are all still sidelined.
Watford can welcome back Younes Kaboul from injury to boost their defence, however new boss Javi Gracia is without eight first team regulars for the trip to east London.
Martin Wague, Kiko Femenia, Will Hughes, Miguel Britos, Nathaniel Chalobah and Craig Cathcart are all still out of action for the visitors through injury.
West Ham v Watford Preview and Predicitons
West Ham are in patchy form at the moment, and now in in their last five games in all competitions - allied with an FA Cup exit at the hands of League One Wigan - tells its own story of their form.
Moyes needs to get things back on track, and a home game is a good opportunity to do just that, despite Watford's positive result in their last game.
The Hornets pulled off a fantastic result beating Chelsea 4-2 on Monday night, and new boss Gracia will be hoping his players can build on that.
But despite their win over Chelsea, there are still nagging problems at Watford, and with West Ham desperate for points, this game could be a case of cancelling each other out, a draw - priced at - 9/4 looks likely.
Neither team has been excellent in scoring goals recently either, with West Ham scoring four goals in their last five games in league and cup action, and Watford netting six in their last five matches - and an under 2.5 goals bet is priced at 3/4.
A 1-1 draw at 11/2
Gracia has gained some positive results since taking over from Marco Silva as Watford boss, but his brief is still avoiding relegation - as is David Moyes' main job. Neither side will really look to attack this game, and point is not a bad outcome for either side.
Javier Hernandez to score first at 9/2
Hernandez is shining in the absence of Carroll and Lanzini, and the former Manchester United man has two goals in his last three Premier League appearances, his speed against a patched up Watford defence will be vital to West Ham's chances of a positive result.
