St.Mary's Stadium - Premier League

Struggling Southampton face a real test in their fight against Premier League relegation as they host Tottenham this weekend.

Past Meetings

Spurs were comfortable winners when these two clashed on Boxing Day, winning 5-2 at Wembley Stadium, with HarryKane netting a hat trick.

Tottenham won the two previous meetings, with Southampton last beating Mauricio Pochettino's side in May 2016.

Team News

England international Harry Winks should be fit to return to the Tottenham squad following an ankle injury. However his international team mate Danny Rose is still out of action with a knee problem.

Centre back Toby Alderweireld is still sidelined with a hamstring injury.

Southampton are still without defender Mayo Yoshida and striker Charlie Austin through injury, with both players set to be out until at least February.

Southampton v Tottenham Preview and Predictions

Southampton's woes have continued into 2018, with a run of 10 Premier League games without a win heading into the visit of Tottenham.

Manuel Pellegrino's side are currently just outside the relegation zone, and they face a fight to stay up, and Tottenham are unlikely to be in an accommodating mood on Sunday.

Spurs are still chasing a top four place, and they have lost just one of their last nine Premier League games, ahead of the trip to the south coast.

The hosts miserable run looks set to continue as Tottenham look to keep their momentum going, and an away win is priced at 8/13.

Despite their poor run, Southampton have been among the goals in recent weeks, netting five goals in their last four league games, with Spurs netting 12 in the same amount of games.

With that in mind, a both teams to score bet looks to be a good option here, priced at 10/11.

Recommended Bets

Tottenham to win 3-1 at 14/1

Spurs are in real form at the moment, and they show no signs of letting up, and with the attacking talent at Pochettino's disposal they should be able to comfortably see off Southampton.

Harry Kane to score first at 5/2

Kane has been in brilliant form so far this season, scoring 10 goals in his last six games - and with 28 goals for the season so far in all competitions. His all round threat will be a concern to a Southampton defence deprived of Virgil van Dijk and Yoshida.
